Rani Mukerji holds tradition close as she move to new country .
The song takes us on a journey with Debika Chatterjee (played by Rani) and her husband (played by Anirban Bhattacharya) as they move to Norway after their marriage. The word “shubho” in Bengali means auspiciousness, and the song captures the couple’s emotions as they embark on a new journey, away from their home and culture.

The track encapsulates the struggles that many Indians face when they move abroad, trying to hold onto their roots amid cultural differences. As an Indian herself, Rani Mukerji feels proud to represent her culture and roots in mainstream Hindi cinema. The film’s story is inspired by Sagarika Bhattacharya, who went through a similar ordeal of losing he

r children when she moved to Norway with her husband. Sagarika broke down after watching the film’s trailer and seeing her story portrayed on screen. Rani Mukerji and the rest of the cast and crew hope that the film will bring awareness to the issue and prompt discussions about immigration and family values.

The song “Shubho Shubho” is a testament to the film’s attention to cultural details and sensitivity to immigrant experiences. It is commendable that the filmmakers have taken the time to research and understand the nuances of Bengali culture and portray them accurately on screen. The use of Bengali lyrics, Baul music, and traditional instruments like Dhaak and Shankh adds to the film’s authenticity and emotional resonance.

How To Die? How To Skip It?

How To Die?

Thoughts of How To Die – Fight with your Thoughts and read our blog on how to skip it

Experiencing suicidal thoughts and urges can be very scary. Many people experience thoughts like these at some point in their lives. When you experience suicide or begin to think about death, it’s important to remember that there are some things you can do to keep yourself safe.

Suicidal thoughts can be complex, confusing, and frightening.

Am I suicidal?

Sometimes you may think that you want to die but may not be confirmed about it. At this time, you need to understand and make sense of the feeling that you are experiencing. Here are some list of the symptoms which would help you to know whether you are suicidal.

You may be experiencing some of the following suicidal thoughts and feelings:

1. Feel sure that you want to die.

2. Desperately want a solution to your nightmare and can’t see any other way out.

3. Don’t care whether you live or die and you are taking more risks or living recklessly.

4. Not actively wanting to kill yourself but would welcome death if it did happen. You may see death as a way of liberation or taking control.

5. Don’t know why you’re having suicidal thoughts or feelings of suicide and are completely powerless to know what to do about it.

What to do if you are experiencing suicidal thoughts of die

If you sometimes think about ending your life or feel like you want to die, it may be because you don’t see any other solution to the difficulties you’re going through. Sometimes life can be really overwhelming, and it can be incredibly difficult to know how to handle things.

If you think there’s no way out, it can help to know that many people who have contemplated suicide have found those feelings go away, and they were glad they didn’t go through it.

Maybe you feel like there’s no one to rely on to help you, or that you just don’t fit in with the people around you. Sometimes it’s difficult to reach out to others for support but contact with others can make a real difference.

Challenge for psychiatrists

The urge to commit suicide often arises in mentally ill patients, but how to present a persuasive argument to prevent these patients from committing suicide remains a formidable challenge.

The issue is discussed below, referring to the highly publicized Chabot case, in which a psychiatrist assisted in the suicide of a patient who was depressed by the loss of two sons under unfortunate circumstances.

Euthanasia, or assisted suicide, has been commonly criticized for the following reasons:

1)  It is impossible to ascertain whether the patient’s free will, which is considered a fundamental basis of self-determination, was intact at the time of the procedure.

2)  If the practice becomes widespread, the possibility exists for vulnerable patients to receive appropriate medical care.

3)  Often, the desire to die is momentary and ambivalent.

4)  The effects associated with death go beyond the individual and can be particularly intense with family. Each of these arguments can be used as a logical counterargument to suicide, and to the extent that they are based on the fact that death is irreversible, they are effective.

However, although we are generally opposed to euthanasia and assisted suicide, we believe that these arguments are not appropriate to persuade individual patients not to commit suicide.

Overview

An overview of the discussions of the Chabot case is considered useful for considering ways to prevent suicide, including the psychotherapeutic relationship. The issue of how to respond to patients at high risk of suicide in Japan is also considered at the base of these discussions. In the absence of sufficient criteria to determine the capacity of a patient who wishes to die, medical treatment can be provided simultaneously while assessing the patient’s ability, a condition considered meaningless.

Furthermore, there is a danger that strongly promoting the treatment of depression in patients at high risk for suicide denies the patient his free will by inviting him to excessive therapy and encroaching on the patient’s “freedom to die”. We believe it is the only way to get closer to the patient’s pain and suffering, while directly confronting the dilemma of helping the patient live versus the patient’s right to die.

Understanding your Suicidal Thoughts

It is important to remember that suicidal thoughts are just thoughts. Just because you’re thinking about suicide, doesn’t mean you have to act on these thoughts.

It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed and stressed if you’re going through a tough time, and it can sometimes feel like things will never get better.

If you’re thinking about suicide because you can’t think of any other way, know that there are many ways you can protect yourself and work through your feelings.

Immediate things you can do to manage suicidal thoughts of die

Postpone any decision to end your life for 24 hours. Use this time to talk to someone you trust.

Talk to someone who can help. Contact a crisis service so they can help you with your immediate situation, and help you find other, long-term support. You can also make an appointment to speak with your doctor or mental health professional.

Develop a safety plan. Anyone who has experienced suicidal thoughts in the past or who is going through a difficult time can plan ahead about how they are going to manage suicidal thoughts or supposed to die if they do come. There are apps to help you create a safety plan, or you can talk to a mental health professional.

Ask for help soon. Talk to someone about how you are feeling. A family member, friend, local doctor, or support service can be a good place to start. If it seems like people aren’t listening, keep asking for help until someone does.

Avoid being alone (especially at night). If possible, stay with a family member or friend, or have someone stay with you until the thoughts of suicide subside. If a trusted person can’t be there, chat with a service online or use one of the 24-hour crisis services. You don’t need to go through this alone.

Avoid drugs and alcohol. Alcohol and many drugs can make you feel worse. They won’t solve your problems and may even make you do things you normally wouldn’t.

We hope this article helps you subside your suicidal thoughts.

Sim Port | Learn Now |

How To Port?

How To Port? | Sim Port |

Is your mobile number bothering you? Is it not available most of the time? Do you believe that the cost of the tariff package is high? Do you want another telecom operator because you are shifting from your current location?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you should definitely try changing your telecom operator and do a sim port . Now if you think that to change your operator you have to change your number too, you are wrong! You can retain your current mobile number and switch to the operator of your choice.

The process of porting a mobile number involves various steps as mentioned in the article below!

What is Mobile Number Portability?

Mobile number portability (MNP) is a feature that allows a telecom service user to move from one operator to another, regardless of geographic area (e.g. Delhi to Mumbai). A customer is not satisfied with the services of his current operator, he will port his mobile number to any other service provider of his choice.

Mobile number portability is a method that allows mobile phone customers to keep their phone numbers while switching from one mobile network provider to another. You do not need to pay extra charges for porting your number.

To port your number, follow the steps for mobile number portability as mentioned below:

  1. Check the website of the network operator (eg, Airtel/Vodafone) to which you wish to switch from your current network.
  2.  Input required information, such as your name, phone number and location.
  3. After logging in and uploading your details, you will be given the option of SIM delivery. Where you can choose the day and time slot to ship your sim.

Also, in the case of Airtel and Vodafone, there is no need to visit their outlets. After accessing their websites, you can port a number in your spare time in just a few easy steps. To port your number, you need a Unique Porting Code (UPC) and a valid ID/Address proof to switch your number from your current provider to a new number.

Step by Step Procedure on How to Port Mobile Number Operator | Sim port |

First of all, you need to choose the telecom operator to which you want to port your mobile number. As the decision is confirmed, follow these steps:

Step 1 :–  Send an SMS in the format, “PORT followed by space <mobile number you want to port>” to 1900.

For example, the message would look something like ‘PORT <9811198111>’ to 1900. (Remember to send SMS from the mobile number you want to port. Do not use another mobile number to port another mobile number)

Step 2 :– You will receive one 8-digit UPC (Unique Porting Code) as a reply from the existing mobile number operator on your registered mobile number. UPC remains valid for 4 days, except in places like Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, North East where UPC is valid for 30 days. So, it is good for the new operator to submit the UPC as soon as possible.

Step 3 :– Now, join your nearest service operator or visit the office/store. Submit the required documents for 8-digit UPC number and mobile number portability. The subscriber is charged Rs 5.74 by the new operator.

Step 4 :– At this stage, the new operator will send a request to the old operator for background verification of your mobile bill payment. Note that your previous operation decides whether to reject/approve your request to port the mobile number. You will be informed of the status of your sim port request within a week.

Step 5 :– After the approval of your request, the new operator will notify you through SMS with the time and date of the mobile SIM port process. During the mobile number porting process, your mobile phone services will be unavailable for approximately 2 hours (as per TRAI rules, the mobile number porting process must be completed within 4 days of submission of the porting application).

Step 6 :– Insert new sim card, your mobile number will be activated with new network service.

How to get a Unique Porting Code (UPC)?

‘SMS port to 10-digit mobile number 1900 to receive 8-digit Unique Porting Code (UPC).’

You will get a response containing the special porting code. The porting code will be valid for 15 days. Charges for the SMS will be applicable as per your plan and usage.

UPC will be valid for 4 (four) days in all other regions except Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, as well as the North East, where it will be valid for 30 days. (The day on which the UPC is produced is not counted while computing the validity of the UPC.)

The following eligibility requirements must be met in order to generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC):

1.     The subscriber has paid ‘dues’ to the existing Telecom Company for the bill(s) paid as per the normal billing period in respect of postpaid mobile connections.

2.      It takes at least 90 days to become active in the network of the current operator.

3.    The request to update the owner of the cell phone number is not currently being processed.

4.      In accordance with the termination provision of the Customer Agreement, there are no outstanding binding obligations to satisfy the Customer.

5.      The court has not ruled that porting phone numbers is illegal.

6.      The phone number being ported is not in the midst of a legal battle.

If any of the above verification is negative, the UPC application will be rejected, and the explanation for the rejection will be sent to the user via SMS.

Conclusion – How To Port

Following are the steps which will help you to port your number:

1. Choose the service provider to whom you want to port your number.

2. For mobile number portability send the following text message to TRAI’s central number – your 10-digit mobile number after port – 1900.

Example: Send ‘PORT 98xxxxxx98’ to 1900. You will receive an SMS back with a port out code which will be valid for 15 days only.

3. Visit your nearest operator store and tell them that you want to port your SIM. They will fill in the porting form and customer acquisition form for the port in the network.

Also, carry a passport size photograph and a self attested copy of the identity proof. As address proof, you can submit a copy of the rent agreement, landline bill, electricity bill or three months bank statement.

4. The next step is to submit your duly filled Porting Form and CAF to the operator along with the requisite documentary proof from the Mobile Service Provider.

5. If you are a postpaid customer, submit a paid copy of the last bill issued along with the porting form and CAF.

6. Once you complete the necessary formalities, get your SIM card from the new service provider. Depending on the service provider, you will be charged up to Rs 19 for porting.

7. This process usually takes seven working days to complete. For Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and North East, it may take up to 15 days.Your new mobile service provider will keep you updated about the date and time of porting through SMS.

8. After the specified date and time, replace the old SIM with the new one provided by your new mobile service provider and enjoy it.

How To Vote In India?

How To Vote In India?

India is the world’s largest democracy. India overtook this title from the United States of America, in 1952. After holding a successful election post-Independence, they were by far the most populous country in the world with a government democratically elected by its citizens. After 1993 Indian citizens got the voter card that is needed to vote in India. The election in India is conducted by the election commission of India which was founded on January 25, 1950, and is later celebrated as national voter’s day.

Brief History about Elections And Vote In India

India got its independence in 1947, but in 1950 its constitution came into effect, And they held the first election post-Independence. But, the elections were even held in Pre-Independence India. They started After Morley-Minto reforms by the governor-general of India Lord Minto and Lord Morley, then secretary of state, near 1906. They held the first election in 1920, Although they only gave the right to get elected and vote, to the people meeting certain requirements such as owning land, payment of taxes, chambers of commerce and trade associations constituency and belonging to a certain religion etc. were the main parameters for giving these rights. The traces of the election being held can be traced back to ancient times, mentions of it can be found in Vedic Purana, where every adult had the right to vote without any restrictions from their caste, status or any socio-economic factors.

Elections in India are like seasons, but that comes once every five for the central government at the same time across India. But state governments are held votes in India at different times in phases but with the same five-year gap in between. In the past, the election for state assembly and parliamentary assembly was held at the same time because of the historical split of congress in 1969 that was responsible for the premature dissolution of the central government and changing the routine of holding the elections at the same time.

Requirement for Voting

India does not have many restrictions, they just need to be an Indian citizen before 1 January of the year in which they want to apply for the voter id card. Regardless of their caste, gender, colour, or any other socio-economic factor, they can apply for the voter id.

On or Before the end of the Tenure of the government, the Election commission of India announces the election dates of the state or centre depending on the tenure. The election is usually held in phases due to our enormous population and limited resources. The election commission usually posts teachers as the Administrator of a poll booth. There are multiple polling booths, they usually are divided based on the part number of the constituent assembly. Each part number has a different booth. But the voter list prepared by the Election commission is based on the assembly not the part number of the booths.

Voters have to go to their specified polling booth to give vote between 7 am to 6 pm on the election date. They need to show their voter id card to the outer desk for entry and then go inside to the officer sitting there and follow a small procedure then choose the candidate in the Electronic voting machine by pressing the button next to it to vote for their desired candidate’s party. The voter also has the right to choose the option of NOTA which was added post-2006 machines. The voting process as in the phases can last up to 1 month and the count can last for a few days.

Voting rights for prisoners

Indians do not allow prisoners, undertrial, detainees and convicts alike the right to vote in India; only the ones out on bail have the right to vote. The Supreme court in a judgement to a petition has stated the reason why they can’t allow the convicts the right to vote.

It was because that would require Large police force deployment and enhanced security arrangements had to be done just to allow them to vote. They also said that there is a reason why they are prisons, to keep the criminal separate from elections we have to take these steps.

National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms published a report on the affidavit submitted by Lok sabha members of India in 2019 that almost 50 per cent of the members of parliaments have criminal cases filed against them.

Vote In India for NRIs

Even Non-Resident Indian NRIs can vote in India under some conditions. Those conditions are as follows –

  • If they hadn’t taken some other nationality, They can get the right to vote in the Indian election. They just need to apply for a voter id card on the election commission’s website.
  • To give a vote in India they need to physically go to India in their constituency according to their passport and show their original passport at the voting center. Many people submitted requests to the Election commission as well as multiple NRIs have submitted their writ petitions in the supreme court, asking to look into the other medium for giving a vote because flying to India just to vote in India can be costly both financially and geologically.
  • To solve this problem of voting rights of NRIs a Lok sabha committee of 12 members was set up to look into three main suggestions to solve this problem, Those are as follows –
  • Online voting – As the name suggests, NRIs can give a vote online just like a Shareholder vote in the General Meeting of corporations. But this option was crossed after giving the reason of it being not secure enough to do such an important task remotely as the secrecy of a vote can be compromised.
  • Voting at Indian mission abroad – They refused this option as well because The India mission abroad does not have enough resources for this kind of immense task. Indian mission aboard comes under Externals affair. They are also known as Indian Embassies.
  • Voting by post – They need to download postal ballots electronically by submitting a request to the returning officer of their constituency and putting it in a specific kind of envelope before posting. That post reaches them before 8 am of the counting day specified by the election commission

After finishing their study of the vote in India they find that postal ballot and proxy ballot came out to be the most viable options according to them, Since, Proxy voting is also done by army officers, Police officers who have posted out of their state, or Indian officials who have been sent abroad for official government work.

Conclusion

In this blog, we learned about various things regarding the Indian elections. To remind you we covered topics of when the election commission was first founded. The First election was pre-independence of India and post-independence of India. How the Indian voters vote during the election. How long does the election last? Who has the right to vote and who doesn’t? And the causes of it. And last but not least how can NRIs vote during the election and what are the things going on to make the process easier for them?

What is percentage

The word percentage comes from per centum. It is a Latin word that means by a hundred. Some also believe that it came from the French word pour cent, which translates to the same as the Latin word By a hundred. We usually use it to estimate a fraction of a full number. It doesn’t have a unit of measure; like distance has a kilometer, or weight has a kilogram. Instead, it is a pure number.

Brief history

We calculate the percentage regularly and use it in our daily life as a way to appreciate someone’s efforts by saying things like he gave his 200 per cent in this project or assignment. but have you ever wondered where it came from? Where is it used? The traces of track backed to Ancient Rome. Its was first used by Roman Emperor Augustus as a tax on auction called Centesima Rerum Venalium. It translates to the hundredth of the value of everything that got sold. Simply said it means 1 per cent tax on everything sold at auction. As the use of money grew, the calculation based on the value hundred grew as well and it became universal. It also started to apply in various things like profit and loss, Interest rates. By the 17th century, it got standardized for calculating interest rates.

Places Use to calculate Percentage

Nowadays, the use of percentages is very common. Nowadays from big companies to small retailers trick customers into thinking they are giving a heavy discount by writing upto 50% or 60% discount. But only a few items will have that discount. We use it in predictions as well, like, how our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will grow by 8 or maybe 10 %. Which is safer than giving the numbers. Because even if the prediction fluctuates the number will only fall by a per cent. Which won’t cause as much panic as the number might do.

Methods to calculate Percentage

We have taken out three types of methods that you can use to calculate a percentage(loss percentage and profit percentage), Reverse calculate and even find out the start number of a percentage.

Here’s how you can use them for calculation –

Percentage calculation

To calculate the percentage of any number you just need to know the total of that figure you want to know the percentage of. For example, someone got 789 out of 1300 in exams. To calculate the percentage of 789 you can just divide 789 of 1300 and multiply it by 100 the answer will be the percentage they can get in exams

7891300 = 0.6069  then, 0.6069100 = 60.69

Reverse Percentage Calculation

To convert from percentage to number. First, you need to know what percentage you want to convert, let us say you want to know 7 percent of 635. To do this you need to divide 7 percent to 100 which will give you 0.07, then simply multiply 0.07 to 635 and you’ll get your answer which is 44.45. We use this method to figure out the number of any percentage without the need of calculating the percentage.

7100 = 0.07 then, 0.07635= 44.45

Start Number Calculation

Using this method you can find the sum by calculating the percentage you want to find out. For example, you already know 8 is 63 percent of something to find. What we can do is divide the 63 by 100 and then multiply it to 8 which will give us 12.69. That means 8 was 63 percent of 12.69. This method is easy to do in cases like these because sometimes people say that this item has been discounted 65 percent or maybe 78 per cent to figure out the actual cost of that product. You can use this method to help you understand, the Maximum retail price of that item.

63 100=0.63 then, 0.638 = 12.69
